Phuket’s Climate and Lifestyle

If ever you could apply the words "champagne lifestyle" to a destination it would be Phuket. World class facilities, a tropical climate and a unique culture are the key ingredients, all combine to make Phuket one of the most desirable places to live and visit on the planet.

Phuket's climate is fundamentally a tropical monsoon climate, given its proximity to the equator. This latitude, just north of the equator, ensures that temperatures in Phuket remain constant throughout the year at +/- 30 degrees Celsius. There are two seasons which evenly dissect the year: a cooler, less humid dry season between December and March and warmer, and wetter, humid season between April and November.

But, with weather patterns changing, it is not uncommon to experience dry season conditions in June and precipitation in February. The island experiences an average of 92 inches of rain each year. This moisture ensures that a green veneer of lush vegetation covers the non-developed parts of the land, which is most of it, giving the island an eye-catching backdrop of forested hillsides.

Of course, Thai cuisine is famous the world over, but here in Phuket there are regional flavors which characterize the south of Thailand… a wide use of coconut, rich curries and excellent seafood. Travel around Asia and you would be foolish to eat "street food" in many places, but here in Phuket its all cooked fresh straight out of the wok; and its cheap!

We choose to live in Phuket for many reasons: excellent infrastructure (the roads are rarely jammed), stunning beaches with clean clear water, superb international education options and it’s airport has direct flights to everywhere in the region as well as a growing number to Europe and the Middle East.

Villa Property Phuket ensures that we are kept working most of the time; but when there is a free day the island offers so much to do. It’s a paradise for sailors, 4 marinas, international regattas and the best cruising in the world. Golfer’s don’t get bored either, 7 courses, including the famous Blue Canyon Championship course.
