Villa Andorinha is a large new villa in the Alma Verde resort, which has won numerous prestigious awards, including this year's (2006) Homes Overseas Gold award for best sustainable development. The villa is ideal for families with children of all ages with the heated pool having a large shallow area (50cm) at one end to allow toddlers to enjoy the pool and salt water chlorination, which significantly reduces skin irritation and burning eyes. The villa has been beautifully furnished and has a spacious open-plan living area, leading out onto the shaded patio with barbecue facilities and pool terrace with sun loungers. There is TV with access to 40 channels (incl. Sky Sports and Sky Movies) and various languages. A large roof terrace allows you to enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding hills and a glimpse of the Atlantic Sea. Fantastic blue flagged beaches are within easy reach by car.

Coast / beaches: Endless beautiful uncrowded sandy beaches and stunning coves dot the coastline of the Western Algarve. The charming fishing village of Burgau is a 5 minute drive and has lovely beach bars serving grilled fish and other traditional Portuguese dishes. Many other beaches are within 10-20 minutes drive and await to be explored!
Travel: Alma Verde is located 10 km West of Lagos (100km of Faro) on the EN125. With the opening of the new motorway extension to the Western Algarve, the journey from Faro International Airport to the villa is now a comfortable 60 minutes.
Lisbon and Seville airport are a 2 and a half hour drive; flights to these airports can be a lot cheaper at the peak season.
