Positive: We had an amazing stay in Casa de Alcaria, the house is small but the perfect size for a couple. We took our dog and she loved it as well, the hosts even left a very cozy bed for her. If you have dogs this house is great, fully fenced and with plenty of space for them to run around. We booked during winter but I wish it was summer to enjoy the pool and grass space. There’s also a protected area that you can be outside but still protected of sun or rain. All amenities where there, fully set kitchen, a fireplace and a TV with cable. The hosts are super friendly and have all informations and tips for the surrounding places and restaurants.

Negative: The only thing that I would warn future guests is that the room is on a mezzanine, so you need to climb some steep stairs which could be challenging if you have vertigo or any type of mobility issues - yet, I’m sure the hosts would make the bed on the sofa to help with that.

Summary: Amazing retreat in the center of Portugal.
