A perfect hidden paradise, Cris's Home is a very welcoming holiday villa in Madeira, great for families and couples alike.
The large covered veranda, mature garden, solarium wih swimming pool are perfect for spending the day or evening and complement the spacious living room and bar and separate open plan kitchen and dining. Refurbished and extended from an old farmers cottage, it still retains many of the character features. The whole front is occupied by a large covered veranda with built-in Madeira barbecue and rustic outdoor dining table and sitting area, perfect for lounging with a book or a drink in the balmy evenings.
The main door opens to the spacious dining room, great for meals or table games, and fully equipped modern kitchen. This leads to the main family bathroom and also to the large sitting room and bar with flat-screen TV with PlayStation, a separate area with table games.
Upstairs are the three bedrooms, the first with double bed, the second with a single bed and the third with two queen sized beds complemented by the upstairs shower room.
Outside there is a beautiful mature garden with lawn, shrubs and trees and a badminton/volleyball net. The good-sized rectangular swimming pool (optionally heated) is set in the garden surrounded by a solarium, sun-beds and a further table and chairs under a fixed straw shade.
The owner, Cris, places great emphasis on his guests' satisfaction. His home is equipped with everything guests may wish for in a holiday villa, with a variety of small touches, such as personalised linen. Cris owns and operates three of the highest classified restaurants in Funchal, and so understands the importance of customer satisfaction.
The nearest facilities are in the village of Prazeres, just over 1Km away. The nearest supermarket is 1,5Km away, by the roundabout that provides access to the expressway. Prazeres offers a small selection of country restaurants and cafés.
The tranquil resort of Prazeres has become ever more popular with visitors as is combines warm climate and easy access to the sea (8 Km away) with the tranquillity and beauty of the Madeira countryside. It is a perfect place for walking in Madeira, offering a variety of country walks, and with the famous Levada Nova passing just above the village.

Swimming pool heating:
Heating is optional and costs 140,00€ per week for 24ºC, paid in cash on arrival.
A supplement of 30,00€ per week applies for each additional degree up to a maximum of 26ºC
Pool heating can be provided and should be requested at least one week in advance. Should it be requested after arrival at the villa, the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from the time the heating is turned on.

Nearby
The nearest facilities (a bakery and café) are a mere 600 metres away, and the village centre (three café/restaurants and the medical centre) is 1,2Km away. 1,5 Km, by the large roundabout that provides access to the expressway and the motorway system, is a supermarket, café/bakery with cashpoint machine, a further café on the petrol station and a further couple of restaurants.
The Levada do Norte passes just above the Village. With the many country walks available in the area, this makes Prazeres a perfect resort for walking in Madeira.
The nearest chemist is in the sleepy village of Estreito da Calheta, only 5 minutes drive away (4 Km).
A few minutes by car will take you to the resort town of Calheta, 6 Km from the Villa. With its man-made golden beaches, it is popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a beautiful marina and a good choice of bars and restaurants, a handful of small shops, a good branded supermarket, a bank and chemist.
Centro das Artes Casa da Mudas is a new centre located at the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea and was built to host superb art exhibitions, musical performances and other events.
15 minutes by car east is Ribeira Brava, the largest town before Funchal, that offers a rocky beach and sea access facilities in addition to a large supermarket and more shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Funchal is an easy 45-minute drive away, and to the airport takes around 55 minutes.

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:
Leaving the airport take the motorway (Via Rápida) West in the direction of Funchal and after this to Ribeira Brava. Travel for 34. Km.
When you reach the end of the motorway (approximately 35 minutes) keep on the right hand lane and follow the signs to Ribeira Brava – Ponta do Sol.
The slip road will lead you to a roundabout. Take the first exit to Ribeira Brava and drive towards the sea for 1,4Km. You will reach another roundabout. Take the 1st exit into the tunnel and you will now carry on for 3,9Km until you reach the roundabout of Ponta do Sol.
At the end of the tunnel you will reach another roundabout; take the 2nd exit , signposted Ponta do Sol and drive through another tunnel. At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel. At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel.
At the end of this tunnel you will come to the roundabout of Ponta do Sol; on the left you will find a petrol station and mini market. Take the 2nd exit into the next tunnel and drive for 2,8Km.
At the end of the tunnel, at the roundabout, turn sharp right into the next tunnel (signposted Calheta).
At the roundabout (1,6Km), take the first turn-off, signposted to Calheta, drive through the next tunnel for 1,8Km.
Reaching the next roundabout, take the second exit following signs to Calheta and through another tunnel until you reach the Calheta roundabout (2,5Km).
Go straight across (2nd exit) , signposted Prazeres (don’t turn left into Calheta) and enter a further tunnel, driving for 2,3Km.
When reaching the next roundabout, where you will find a BP Petrol Station, take the second turnoff indicated “Prazeres” and "Mercado Agricultores".
