Positive: We liked the pool access room - clean and quiet with a pleasant outlook onto trees, as well as the attractive pool itself. This was a change from our original booking for an ocean view room - see below. Parking was easy and secure. The forest clad hills surrounding the resort, and the limited commercial activity on the main road made this part of the island appealing.

Negative: 1. The so-called "ocean view"rooms had mattresses at floor level only. An impossible situation for those no longer so nimble! This fact should be made clear in the description. These rooms also face the beach bars and the so-called entertainment shows. We moved out after one night of misery. 2. The appallingly low quality of the Mercure wifi system - especially at the beach. 3. The beach itself - artificially made and, although pleasant to look at, you cannot swim there because of the sewage floating on the water. Whether from the hotels' system or elsewhere I couldn't say. No effort by the hotel to deal with this problem. Beach chairs uncomfortable - no mattresses. And strictly one beach towel per person...

Summary: Very disappointing. Not up to Accor standard. Although we live in Thailand we would never go back.
