Summary: I feel sorry for this once extremely fine hotel. It's simply getting a bit old and tired and is desperately in need of renewal. Unfortunately, given the average price of hotel rooms in Kalasin and the lack of hotel customers in general in the town, I can't see them ever having the financial resources to modernise anything. Aside from that, the rooms are plenty large enough, although that's partly because they are somewhat sparsely furnished. The bed is best described as firm, although again a double room has a large king bed. The lighting is ancient, the bathroom is tired and has no shaver point. But each room has a fridge. Room service didn't pick up the phone the one time I tried and English language amongst the staff is generally pretty poor. Having said that, it's still the best game in town in Kalasin and at the prices charged, it is difficult to be too hard on them. We've stayed there many times and, as we have yet to find better in Kalasin, we will probably stay there many times in the future too.
