This authentic holiday home is located near the typical Portuguese village of Moncarapacho in the eastern part of the Algarve. The house was built in 1828, and remained in the same family until 2018. The house has been recently renovated, keeping its original character. The house is suitable for the whole family or a group of friends to stay in. Here you still have real privacy!
Surroundings
One of the biggest attractions in the immediate vicinity is the Igreja de São Lourenço de Almancil. The church Igreja de São Lourenço de Almancil was built in the first half of the 18th century in the Baroque style. The interior decoration is a good example of tile art and national baroque art. The main altar's reredos are of gilded carvings and the walls are completely covered with tiles, representing historical scenes from São Lourenço's life. The tiles are by Policarpo de Oliveira Bernardes. The whole dates back to 1730 and is one of the most representative examples of the application of tiles in architecture, which is so characteristic of Portuguese sacred art
In Estoi is the Palacio de Estoi, about 10 km from Casa do Carmo. Today the palace is a hotel, which you can enter for free through the entrance. It is worth visiting the well-kept garden here. This consists of statues, water features, Portuguese tile work, fences and marble. It is possible to have a drink in the garden, from where you have a beautiful view to the sea. While in Estoi, you can also visit the Ruins of Milreu, the remains of a Roman farm complex.
You can enjoy a walk near the house. So it is possible to go to the Cerro de S. Miguel. Here you follow a path up, the view makes it worthwhile! On clear days you can see the ocean, Faro, the northern part of the Algarve and even as far as Spain.
Another mountain is the Cerro de Cabeça, where limestone used to be extracted. Remains can be seen during the walking route. The walk is approx. 4.5 km and the upper part is only for the real daredevil, the path ends and you have to find your own way over the rocks. Along the way, enjoy the view, cacti and dilapidated farms.

The 201m2 house is spread over 2 floors and consists of 5 large bedrooms with comfortable beds. Some of these rooms have a private balcony. There are 4 bathrooms that are equipped with a shower and toilet. The kitchen is equipped with hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / freezer, kettle and washing machine. The living room has plenty of seating space, a fireplace and a flat screen TV. Outside, you can relax on the large porch, which has a dining table. When you go further into the garden you come to the sun terrace with sun beds. From the private swimming pool you have a beautiful view of the surrounding area. You can park for free at the house.
