Positive: The villa was very clean and spacious and generally well equipped. The tennis court is a unique feature and a significant advantage of this accommodation. Bikes are also a bonus. The owners were helpful with early check in time.

Negative: The owners are not honest about the fact that the pool is in front of their house which is on the same property as the villa. The pool is said to be for exclusive use of the guests, but there were time restrictions (10:00-20:00). This was communicated a day before our arrival, in the access instructions email, at which point it was not possible to cancel. We have exchanged several messages to discuss it and the owners agreed to extend the time the pool could be used and assured us about privacy – however this does not change the fact the pool is directly overlooked from their house. We have told the owners we would not have rented the house had we known about it. They claimed this information is available in Q&A section on Booking.com - however this it is only seen on the Portuguese page while it should be explicitly stated in the main description, especially that the page also states that “The entire places is yours”. They promised to “make sure to highlight better for future bookings to avoid any confusion” and “clarify this for future guests” but the description remains unchanged. They continue to claim in response to another critical review here, highlighting the same problem, that this information is available, while it remains hidden in Portuguese Q&A section. We feel we need to highlight this so potential renters are aware and can make an informed decision. The outdoor sitting facilities are not the best – the sitting area has no easy access from the house and there is only basic plastic furniture – the nice glass table and soft chairs featured on the main property photo are in front the owners’ house.
